We are delighted to invite you and your companions to a jazz piano concert with Hiromi Uehara as official partner of this year’s Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. The evening begins with an aperitif at 18:00 in the Hotel Le Grand Bellevue to get us in the mood for the upcoming concert. Afterwards, our shuttle service will be ready to take you to the church in Saanen, where the concert will take place.
After the concert, we cordially invite you to round off the evening at the bar of the Hotel Le Grand Bellevue.

Hayato’s Piano Transformation
He is already a real phenomenon in the Asian music scene: millions of followers follow him on social media under the name “Cateen”. Now the Japanese-born Hayato Sumino is finally appearing on European stages! This is primarily thanks to his research stay at the Paris Intitut de recherche et coordination acoustique/musique (IRCAM) in the field of music information processing. After working intensively with French pianist Jean-Marc Luisada, Hayato Sumino reached the semi-finals of the 2021 Chopin Piano Competition. In that very year, the competition had to take place largely online due to the pandemic. Hayato Sumino’s appearance at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy marks his Swiss debut: this is the opportunity to experience his personal “piano transformation”, under which Hayato Sumino presents classical pieces alongside his own compositions, arrangements and improvisations. Back in his school days, the pianist was already posting new arrangements of music for video games online … so it will be exciting to see what variety Hayato Sumino will surprise us with in his recital!
