HAYDN TO MOZART – TRANS-MISSION I

We are delighted to invite you and your companions to the concert “ HAYDN TO MOZART – TRANS-MISSION I” as part of this year’s Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. We will start the evening with an aperitif at 18:00 in the Hotel Le Grand Bellevue to get in the mood for the upcoming concert. We then continue our journey with our shuttle to the church in Lauenen, where the concert will take place.

After the concert, you are cordially invited to dine exclusively with the artists in the Wildhorn restaurant and exchange ideas in person. Together we return to the Hotel Bellevue by shuttle.

We would be delighted to share this special musical and culinary experience with you.

Information about the concert:

It is always a pleasure to see the outstanding Quatuor Chiaroscuro again, once Menuhin’s Heritage Artist and now a loyal guest at the festival. This is particularly enjoyable in the company of the “pianoforte player” Kristian Bezuidenhout, and all this in the warm atmosphere of the wooden walls of the church in Lauenen! In addition to Mozart’s 12th Piano Concerto, which was already performed “a quattro” – i.e. accompanied by a quartet – during the composer’s lifetime, the ensemble led by Alina Ibragimova will also perform the impressive “Quartet of Dissonances”. The nickname of this work becomes apparent to the listener from the very first bars: a slow introduction in which – disregarding all “classical” conventions – a C (on the cello), an Ab (on the viola), an Eb (on the second violin) and an A (on the first violin) merge one after the other.
