We are delighted to invite you and your companions to the symphony concert of the London Symphony Orchestra entitled “Dall’ Inferno al Paradiso – Trans-zendenz X” as an official partner of this year’s Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. The evening begins with an aperitif at 18:00 in the Hotel Le Grand Bellevue to get us in the mood for the upcoming concert. Afterwards, our shuttle service will be ready to take you to the venue in the Festival Tent Gstaad.

After the concert, we cordially invite you to round off the evening at the bar of the Hotel Le Grand Bellevue.

Information about the concert:

The London Symphony Orchestra is inextricably linked with some of the most impressive symphony concerts of the last twenty festival years. This year’s two concerts under Sir Antonio Pappano will be a seamless succession of unforgettable moments with the world-famous orchestra. First, the London Symphony Orchestra and soloist Vilde Frang take on a much too rarely performed work that is fittingly considered particularly “British”: Elgar’s Violin Concerto captivates with a technical and conditional course that always leaves enough room for nostalgic sounds. In this first of their two programs, the LSO also presents Gustav Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 1, nicknamed “The Titan”. The symphony is said to have taken the audience “from hell to heaven” at its premiere in Weimar in 1894 … but a little patience is required for this event! The first two movements are followed by the famous funeral march, an echo of the misery and lamentations of the world. The finale begins like “the sudden outburst of despair of a deeply wounded heart” (in the composer’s words) before the music reaches its triumphant climax.
