Pure emotion around heritage, craftsmanship and innovation.
We are delighted to invite you and your companions to the orchestral concert “Mozart’s Liberation” with Alexandra Dovgan, Basel Chamber Orchestra as official partner of this year’s Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. The evening begins with an aperitif at 18:00 in the Hotel Le Grand Bellevue to get us in the mood for the upcoming concert. Afterwards, our shuttle service will be ready to take you to the church in Saanen, where the concert will take place.
After the concert, we cordially invite you to round off the evening at the bar of the Hotel Le Grand Bellevue.
We would be delighted to share this special musical and culinary experience with you.
Information about the concert:
Mozart’s liberation
Mozart’s liberationIn an age where the focus is on individual expression, it is easy to forget that for centuries music was almost exclusively commissioned by princes, churches or other patrons. When Mozart wrote his Piano Concerto No. 20 in 1785, it must have been an act of liberation for him to be able to write without a specific commission. Even for audiences at the time, Mozart’s “free” compositions were a radiant revelation: music that sounds more truthful than ever before – the intimate Romance in particular seems like a confidential confession that whispers directly into the ear. Joseph Haydn’s “London” symphonies also capture this spirit of the late 18th century: without losing themselves in such personal expression, they reflect the age characterized by the ideals of the Enlightenment and always make the urge for freedom and inspiration palpable.
